Those are great. Thanks for the link. A tremendous amount of work was done to every Fort that came thru there. Question: what is the flexible hose as seen inside the nose piece? It looks like vacuum to my real old GE vacuum.

A really great set of pics, it makes you think about the quality of work and attention to detail that everyone had to show to get the job done. Great people.

I never realised that the Cheyenne tail turret mod involved cutting the original tailcone, always thought it was fixed at a pre-existing joint. Steady hands...

The hose in the nose is a defroster for the bombing window.

Thanks for sharing the link. My maternal grandmother worked for United in Cheyenne working on B-17's during the war.
