A friend who is kinda in the market for a ME amphibian tells me Mallards are very pricey (and rare) as is a nice Goose.
I think a Widgeon is too small for his family..as is the Twin Seebee.
The only relatively affordable option is the Albatross..but they have huge operating costs. If you could get one of the G.111s reworked and upgrades in the '80s, it would be a nice ship. I think they are in storage in Marana, Arizona. But then, you'd go broke with fuel.
Piaggio P.136/Trecker Royal Gulls might be an option, I don't know how many are left.

N98BS is a really nice looking bird. She's been basically the only vintage aircraft based at the Sikorsky Airport in Stratford for decades now. She's been up for sale for the past few years. and I'm certainly not looking toward the day she's sold, and will probably leave the airport. Leaving only one or two L-39s, and a J3 I believe. Not really sure of any other vintage aircraft based at the airport.
