1930’s USMC Curtis biplane photo info request.

Thu Jul 09, 2020 10:18 pm

Good evening everyone. Today I came across this photo at work. It is 10 x12 and is what I believe to be a Curtis OC-1 Falcon. The photo has an inscription made out to Dudley Steele. Is there any information any of you may have on it. I am thinking somewhere around 1930? Also was mr Steele an air race pilot to any of your knowledge? I have read and re read the inscription and all I think of with pylon is racing. After doing more research it appears as though mr Steele was very involved in the 1928 national air races held at low Angeles.

Thanks for any help you all may have

Tom

It appears to carry the "Ace of Spades" markings of Marine squadron VO-8M.
