Who bought The Lewis Mosquito?

It's still registered to the same address as the rest of the collection.

Michael Somers out of California. Also bought the P-40 and P-51 "Live Bait" Mossie was reportedly to be delivered this week.

The FAA registry is not a reliable method of looking for new sales. You have to search the Document Index.

I don't mind being wrong, that's amazing!

The name of the new owner is Charles Somers, based out of Sacramento, who also has been the long-time owner of the Midwest Aero-restored P-51D "Daddy's Girl". He also recently acquired the ex-Olympic Flight Museum FG-1D Corsair and the ex-Tony Banta Spitfire Mk.XVI TB252 currently nearing completion at Avspecs. As Tim mentioned, in addition to the Mosquito the Rod Lewis (Avspecs-restored) P-40C and P-51D "Live Bait" (another Midwest Aero restoration) has also been acquired by Mr. Somers.

Didn't Lewis just get that flying in the last year? Is he getting out of the game?

I wonder what was the selling price on the Mosquito?

I have seen assets ''transferred'' to friendly friends for a lower market price than the actual value.

Hoping this will be a new flying collection. Just glad it is staying in NA.

I could be making something out of nothing here, but just today Lewis Air Legends have put out a clip entitled "Glacier Girl: The Story Continues". Just some moody shots of GG on the ground and no details, but does this suggest another Greenland expedition? Selling off part of the collection to fund the project??

Certainly seems odd to sell the Mosquito when it's been flying such a short time.
