Sandy Air Corps Find

Just for curiosity sake, has this aircraft wreck ever been ID'd? Their site says they don't know exactly what it is. I did a search here and didn't see anything.

English inscriptions are mentioned... perhaps a T-33, F-89, or F-104 tip tank?

The lake it's located in is SW of Munich. Kind of a broad thought maybe but what (and when) aircraft would have been in that area with English language on them?

oh to live in Europe and own a boat and a side scan sonar and magnetometer! sandy air corp has the best job besides steve hinton!....hope its ww2.....fingers crossed.....cam
