I think that might be an XP-47.....it looks like it has a door on the other side.

Yikes that's cool!

This brought back a memory. I dug through all the Minneapolis Vocational High School yearbooks available on the Classmates site and found this in the 1953 yearbook:

Same P-35? I checked the NMUSAF site, and my memory was confirmed:

NMUSAF wrote:The aircraft was restored by the 133rd Tactical Airlift Wing, Minnesota Air National Guard, with assistance from students of the Minneapolis Vocational Institute.

So, same P-35? Maybe - it only shows up in the '53 yearbook; I'm not sure where it went between then and the early '70s. Only thirteen yearbooks from 1952 to 1970 are available. Can anyone verify?

ETA: The museum's P-35 is s/n 36-404. Zooming in on the first photo:

Could that be the top of a "4" on the fin? Hmm...

The Biplane appears to be a Curtiss design and I would venture to say that it is O2C or possibly a F8C... circa 1934. Does it still exist??

I wonder what became of the XP-37 out here in Utah? That would be a heck of a "barn find" if at some point the shop teacher said "enough" and hauled it out of the school to make room for cars.

Great B-18 shots! Found the Utah Valley University archive and the original photo; zoomed all the way in but couldn't read the data block :( . Baugher didn't have any Bolos listed as Class 26 or reclaimed at Wendover; looks like a record card search would be needed. Thanks again Mark!

Thanks for the photos, Mark

Thanks Mark! Those are great shots. I will have to root through the paper records we have at the museum. I don't recall seeing anything about B-18s other than a quick mention of them being used as trainers right around 1940 - 1941, and then only as, "B-18's trained here. . ".

Hopefully the WIX brain trust can track down what happened to these airframes - I'm sure scrapped in the end but that XP-37 in Vernal . . I can dream its in a barn out there right?! LOL.

Looks to be a combat veteran Mustang?

A fascinating set of pictures. I would agree that the P51B looks like a combat vet - D-Day stripes, the remains of a wing root I.D. stripe and the Malcolm Hood all point to previous service in Europe.

Found another one. Near-new FM-2 in Salinas (CA) Union High School's 1946 yearbook:

The P-51D on display in South Park "North American F-51D Mustang, #4744FF-744 with post-1947 insignia on display by students in South Park PA." was on display for the Allegheny County Fair. The date of the photo is ca. 1950. PA-ANG had Mustangs at PIT, possibly brought over from there.
