I read/learned somewhere that the Pearl Harbor P-40 had actually ground-looped some days before the attack, explaining the shredded wing tip and the neatly separated tail section. Having said that it might have gotten a bit of attention from strafing Zeros though.

Hamilcar glider. Landing accident at RAF Tarrant Rushton early 1944. The Tetrarch tank was the glider's load and it was manned. - minor injuries only
