Lovely blast of fresh snow in the back of the prop wash.......
Modern cars in the back kinda diminished the moment.
Reminded me of a vid of winter.....
There was one of a P-51 in Sweeden I think....but I cannot find it.

It has an R-2800 with a downdraft carburetor, hence the scoop on top.

John, that is the first thing that popped when I saw the video. Kinda made me think of the FW-190D prototype...the V18. But with the scoop on the other side.
Getting used to the various renditions.....understanding that the array of small rectangular coolers of the original design in the cowling did not work!
So:
- Ex Jerry Yagen with the oil coolers in the wing root
- The one with the Ash TU-2 Engine and cowl
- And this guy......
Best of all....they all fly
Look....I am not offended by re-engined Fury's.
So just happy to see a replica fly

Kinda made me think of the FW-190D prototype...the V18.
That's not a D-prototype. The V18 was a C-prototype with a DB603A + turbocharger. The DB and Jumo engines have the scoop on different sides, DB to the left and Jumo to the right. However, in the C-version due to the turbocharger, there is no side-scoop but a belly-scoop.

Rudy Frasca's assembled by Matt Nightingale was the first one with the R-2800, which John Maloney also flies. It has oil coolers in the wing gun bays.
