This is new too me, never knew some B-17s were fitted with a remote turret.

Swamp Ghost was equipped with the remote turret and is likely the only remote B-17E turret still in existence.

Someone beat me to it...Swamp Ghost had one, but I thought I heard that it was among the parts left in a container in Lae??? Here's a picture of the turret. Looks like it was in pretty decent condition...restorable anyway!

What about the "black cat pass" B-17E? Did it have the remote turret or has it been replaced by the time it was lost?

Part of the second production batch of B-17Es. They all had factory installed ball turrets.
