This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Watching some newer videos on you tube I noticed the glass on the nose turret of witchcraft was missing. I also happened to watch Kermit weeks new walk around video on his b-24. In his video he talks about the Collings Foundation needing his glass for a templet etc. did something happen or was it just time to replace the existing glass?

I had seen on another forum where the same question was asked about the nose turret was odd. When Collings visited Valparaiso, Indiana on August 4th I saw their aircraft and asked Mac Macally, pilot for the heavies, what happened. Was told Witchcraft had bird strike and cracked plexiglass pretty good and they fiberglassed it over and painted it OD . New glass on order and will replace repair. Their B25 had bird strike in Colorado, it hit cowling on port engine, couldn’t get close to B25 as was roped off while they changed port main landing gear tire and played with brakes. Stuff happens.

Thank you for the information! I appreciate it

Yes, that's what makes this forum so interesting, you get answers straight...or fairly directly...from the source, not the 'secret squirrel' (aka. "I know something you don't know") stuff some UK operators tend to foster on the other forum.

After looking at my photos of Collings B25 I see a unpainted repair of the leading edge next to the port engine cowling outboard between the inlet of what I think is the oil cooler inlet. From the Colorado bird strike.

Do you have a couple pics you can post of that?
