What a great video! WWII C-47 vet flies his old plane again just days before he died.

Wonderful video, beautifully shot. I teared up at the end.

My father was in the 12th Troop Carrier Squadron during the invasions of North Africa and Sicily. Someday I have to go up in a C-47 to get at least a tiny hint of his experience.

Luckily not that difficult, or expensive, to do.
I know the Historic Flight Foundation out of Everett does DC-3/C-47 flights.

Might I also suggest getting a USAAF/USAF C-47 "Dash-1" pilot's operating handbook...I have my late father's and it interesting to read all the things he had to know....

If you are in the New York area the American Airpower Museum in Farmingdale has a great D-Day reenactment flight....http://americanairpowermuseum.com/hours ... experience
