I will add to my personal short list (there are other extinct ones, but these are the ones I would like to see:)

Correct, underwater doesn't count. It is extremely unlikely that any underwater TBD's will ever be recovered, therefore they will reach a point in time where the metal will dissolve and turn into paste and become unrecognizable as an airplane.

and for my pick of types I would like to see flying :

Me 323 Gigant (just to scare the H**l out of everyone)
Miles M35 Libellula (resembles a Lysander that has been assembled by a mechanic on drugs).

I've got to agree with a Stirling. A major combat type. A lot if guys died in them. Hard to believe a major allied type would be scrapped into extinction...especially in the UK, a place that really likes it's history.

Northrop F-15 Reporter. I believe one survived until the '60s but was destroyed firefighting.

In many ways it was closer to the future for transport planes than its brother the DC-3.
