For those like me, who didn't know of this until just now, another Flugwerk Fw-190A-8 has recently been completed and is flying, registered D-FWSE, with the original markings, identity and some original parts of Fw-190A-8 WkNr.739137. The aircraft has a unique history tied to Sweden, which is where it is now based (near Stockholm). Test flights were carried out back in late May by Klaus Plasa, at Manching, Germany.

http://lae.blogg.se/2015/april/horrido-12.html ... The aircraft's identity, paint work, and some original parts were taken from an Fw-190A-8 that belonged to JG 54, which on May 8, 1945, was ordered to fly west to Flensburg and surrender to the British, so as to not fall into the hands of the Russian army. Without enough fuel to get all the way there, they had to set down in Sweden, and one of these was this particular Fw-190 (identity/markings) piloted by Ludwig Nitsch. (By the sound of it, Nitsch would have a bit of a hard go at it in the immediate years following WWII - he was detained in Sweden after he landed but then soon escaped and was on the run for a couple years, until he was arrested in Denmark and sent back to Sweden - eventually he was granted a permit of residence and would actually go on to marry a Swedish woman that had initially helped him when he landed in Sweden back in 1945. He would go on to be a teacher in Sweden and lived until 2006.)

How's that for an under-the-radar surprise? Awesome!

Yeah, the last time I had recalled seeing information about this particular project was mention of the kit being sold to a Swedish buyer in 2010, and that it was/has been under assembly by Flugwerk, which also explains why the test flights were caried out at Manching and that the project has also been called the last 190 to emerge from Flugwerk.
Here are some more blog posts (not posted above) that followed a bit of the progress of the build over time:

I know I've been spending way too much time on Facebook and aviation forums - I've got a good handle on Google search as well.

Isn´t this the re-configured last (3.) Flugwerk D-9 N originally intended for use by Flugwerk (or Claus Colling privately)? IIRC it was published somewhere several years ago that the Swedish Flugwerk A-8 was in fact C. Collings D-9. So there are only 2 (new built D-9´s left? Jerry Yagen´s, Eric Vormezeele´s? And / or is there indeed a 3. one with the Collings Foundation? But then this could not be the missing 3. Dora, if Collings have an Flugwerk D-9 N too? AFAIK Flugwerk only built 3 Dora kits, didn´t they?

Hey Michael,
I believe you're absolutely correct.
From what I've read from those who seem to be in-the-know/involved with Flug Werk, there were 20 kits produced in all, ranging the serials 990000-990019, with, as you mention, only three that were intended as D-9's (990003, 990006, and 990015). I have noticed that in reading more about D-FWSE, there was quite some emphases placed on the fact that after the project was purchased, in 2010, it was to be completed as an Fw-190A-8, with an ASh-82 engine, in particular, so I get the impression too that the project was originally to be one of those three D-9's.
I know at least two of the Flug Werk FW-190 identities are hard to separate/seemingly some confusion centered around them, in that being the FW-190D-9/N's WkNr.990003 and WkNr.990015 (the other one is 990006, which seemingly is clearly the one that Eric Vormezeele owns). Depending on which source you go by, both ..03 and ..15 have been claimed to be either airframe, and both with the registration of D-FWSC reserved, probably at different times. What is for certain is that one of these is the airframe that Jerry Yagen owns, and the other is the one that was kept by Flug Werk (supposedly still acknowledged as of 2010 as undergoing construction as a D-9 at Flug Werk). As you say, I'm sure this is the one that is now flying in Sweden as D-FWSE, having been purchased in 2010 and under further build/reconstruction since.
From all that I've compiled from various sources with regard to all of the Flug Werk 190's manufactured (the info pertaining to 990003 and 990015 can be/has been swapped back and forth, depending on who you ask):
FW-190A-8/N WkNr.990000 - Gunter Leonhardt/Luftfahrtmuseum, displayed as WNr.170393. Laatzen-Hannover, Germany. (Static)
FW-190A-8/N WkNr.990001 - Chariots of Fire Collection, ZK-RFR. Omaka, New Zealand. (Undergoing repairs to fly again)
FW-190A-8/N WkNr.990002 - Erickson Aircraft Collection, N447FW. Madras, Oregon. (Undergoing repairs to fly again)
FW 190D-9/N - FW 190A-8/N WkNr.990003 - Reportedly offered for sale in 2004 as one of three long-nosed Allison engined "Fw 190D-9/N's", but retained by Flug Werk, reported nearing completion at Flug Werk in '07 (registration of D-FWSC reserved) and still talked about being at Flug Werk as of at least 2010. This one is probably/most certainly the now completed/flying FW-190A-8/N D-FWSE, based near Stockholm, Sweden. (Flying)
FW 190A-8/N WkNr.990004 - Raptor Aviation, VH-WLF. Brighton, Victoria, Australia. (Flying)
FW 190A-8/N WkNr.990005 - Jerry Yagen/Military Aviation Museum, N190BR. Virginia Beach, Virginia. (Flying)
FW 190D-9/N WkNr.990006 - Eric Vormezeele, Brasschaat, Belgium. (Underoging build with Jumo 213 engine and original D-9 identity of WkNr.210102)
FW 190A-8/N WkNr.990007 - Luftwaffenmuseum, Gatow AB, Berlin, Germany. (Undergoing build for static display)
FW 190A-8/N WkNr.990008 - Private owner, last name Fink, reportedly located in US. (Unkown whereabouts/project history)
FW 190A-8/N WkNr.990009 - Private owner, Germany, D-FWMV. (Seen taxiing in March 2017 after completion of repairs, perhaps flying again or soon to be(?))
FW 190A-8/N WkNr.990010 - Rudy Frasca/Planes of Fame Air Museum, N190RF. Chino, California. (Flying)
FW 190A-8/N WkNr.990011 - Wings of a Dream Museum. Sao Carlos, Brazil. (Undergoing build for static display (previously rep. as 990012))
FW 190A-8/N WkNr.990012 - Tri-State Warbird Museum, N190AF. Batavia, Ohio. (Undergoing build to fly, using original Fw 190F-8 WkNr.583661 (previously rep. as 990011))
FW 190A-8/N WkNr.990013 - Air Fighter Academy/Hangar10. Heringsdorf, Usedom, Germany. (Nearing completion of restoration to fly again)
FW 190A-8/N WkNr.990014 - Unknown
FW 190D-9/N WkNr.990015 - The first of 3 long-nosed "Dora" variants, offered for sale by Flug Werk as of 2004. Arrived at Kissimmee, Florida in 2006, with then owner Tom Blair, finished/ready to fly by 2008. Currently owned by Jerry Yagen/Military Aviation Museum, N623TB. Virginia Beach, Virginia. (Not flown to-date, reportedly to eventually be re-engined with a Jumo 213, and is registered with the original D-9 WkNr.210111)
FW 190A-8/N WkNr.990016 - Unknown
FW 190A-8/N WkNr.990017 - Private owner, Germany, D-FWJS. (Flyable/airworthy, sold by Platinum Fighter Sales earlier this year)
FW 190A-8/N WkNr.990018 - Unknown
FW 190A-8/N WkNr.990019 - Dan Kirkland, N190DK. Kingman, Arizona. (Flying)
I've assumed that what happened with the 3 airframes for which have no known history attributed, is that the parts/sections built for those wound up as parts for repairs for others or simply as spares.
As the list shows, there are at least 5 active flyers at the moment (D-FWSE, VH-WLF, N190BR, N190RF, and N190DK), with up to 7 potential active flyers (D-FWMV and D-FWJS), with another 2 to fly again probably this year (Air Fighter Academy's and N447FW), and another 2 more to fly in perhaps another couple years or so (ZK-RFR and N190AF).

We owe Claus Colling a lot. Without his vision the type would be almost extinct.

Amen to that, Fouga. I remember reading about the start of the project in Classic Wings Downunder 18-19yr ago and getting very excited. An amazing initiative that, despite several hurdles and technical issues, has delivered a bundle of very cool aircraft.
Still waiting to see a Flug Werk Dora, though

Based on info available at the time I did a 1/72 model of how the Vormezeele machine may look when complete:

FW 190A-8/N WkNr.990011 - Wings of a Dream Museum. Sao Carlos, Brazil. (Undergoing build for static display (previously rep. as 990012)
Any update on what will happen to 990011 now that this museum has closed?

It has been announced that "Wow... 7 years since we pulled 'Storm of Steel' out of the container...
The good news is that we have just received the green light to get her back on the air for Yealands Classic Fighters Omaka 2019. Work has started in a frenzy!"
