Plattsburgh NY. the old SAC base

Tue Jul 06, 2004 12:24 pm

Last week I drove up to Plattsburgh for some brewing supplies and decided to also swing by the old base. I had heard that they still had a B-47E and an FB-111A up their on display. They do and I took about two dozen pictures. What a great day. But here is my question. In one of the hanger up there there were several (5 that I could count as I passed) C-47 & DC-3s. I know one of them is called "Bones". Does anyone know who owns and flys them? And any other useful information about them?

I know that the outfit is known as Champlain Air and Bill Dahler is the main contact there. They run some specialized freight on some, charter flights on others, and "Bones" visits shows in the area. "Bones" was at the Aviation Heritage Festival in Nashua, NH last year.
