This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Just watched the Formula 1 GP qualification, and this made me remember a photo of a restored T-28 flying out of Abu Dhabi. It was in either Warbirds Worldwide or Flypast years ago. Owned by an American if I'm not mistaken. Is there any T-28 guy or NATA member who can recall anything about this? Is the plane still there? Which one was it?

No record of a T-28 there with NATA, but the Saudis had T-28As, but that was years ago.

There was a gentleman by the name of Chris Miller ( not the same person with the Hawker Tempest ) That had a T-28B if I remember correctly. I recall selling him parts and such while it was going on. It would have been around the mid 90's if memory serves.

Chris Miller had a hangar and T-28 at stead field Reno, but I don't think it ever went there.

I worked in UAE Abu Dhabi for a year...general aviation presence is quite small. UAE might have had T-28 out at Al Ain where the UAE AF training facility is located.
