The Air Force Museum of New Zealand

Thu Nov 10, 2016 5:52 pm

The Wings Over New Zealand Show "Episode 123 - The Air Force Museum of New Zealand - Part One" is now online. This is a fascinating insight behind the scenes of the Air Force Museum of New Zealand, at Wigram in Christchurch. I interview the museum's Communications Officer Michelle Sim as we walk around the museum and explore the exhibits, and talk about the philosophies and angles that the museum takes to present the history of New Zealand's Air Force, from WWI through to the modern era.

I then visit Nathan 'Barf' Bosher in the museum's Restoration Workshops to discuss his role there as a Safety and Surface Technician, restoring aeroplanes, creating displays and researching history.

There are many photos to view on the show page while you listen to this fascinating episode, and this will be followed soon by Part Two where I visit the Air Force Museum of New Zealand's amazing archives. Here's the link to today's episode:
