This was in another WIX thread:

"Fearless Fosdick" (WV-Y), Consolidated-Fort Worth B-24H-15-CF, Serial 41-29604, 702nd Bomb Squadron, 445th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force. Damaged the landing gear in crash landing on August 1,1944 near Westley Waterless, Cambridgeshire.

Online searches show this was a popular name also coming up with 42-95049, 44-50568, and 42-51375 - there may have been more plus at least one B-17.

WVY is clearly seen between the gear struts and prop so the first submission above is key to the photo.

The nose turret bombardier enclosure is a early Ford B-24H, so it could be a Ford knockdown.
