DUAN Book review - Air Apaches in WW2

Mon Oct 24, 2016 8:01 am

DUAN latest book review is now online.

This book review covers the famous Air Apaches of the 345th Bomb Group (M) in WW2 during their operations in South East Asia.

With various insights to the Group's daily to weekly operations, the book shows how the group's 4 squadrons moved from the USA to Australia, then Papua New Guinea, Philipines and on towards Japan.

Tough bombing missions and fighting off stiff Japanese air attacks made the aircrews and hard environmental conditions for the ground crews life very challenging. At the same time the Air Apaches became known as a very accurate bombing group in destroying a significant number of Japanese ground targets.
