Shay's post triggered a spontaneous tic in my gray matter: Has anyone seen the P-47N rebuild lately?
I've been a very patient boy--and am really hoping she gets some air under her wings in '06.
TIA

Coming along slowly, but most repairs are complete. Hope to start assembling soon. Would love to have it ready for '06. But knowing how the restorations go, that's being optimistic. I'll try to get some pic's next week and post them.

Where is she worked on Doug ?
Last time I visited she was not in any hangar.
BTW, the Corsair must be really close to flying now. Any news ?
Tks in advance.

The major sheet metal repairs are being done by Terry Rogers of RB Airframes in Sherman Texas, 65miles north of Dallas. The components are being done here in the museum. The Corsair is complete, still waiting on the engine from Abbott in Oklahoma. He keeps telling me he's close, but I'm not holding my breath.

Is this the Corsair you are referring to, the one at the Cavanaugh Flight Museum?
I had originally visited the museum while I was in Dallas a couple of months ago specifically to take detail photos of the P-47. Unfortunately I had not heard the unfortunate news that it had burned
