Well holy crap, how about that... he DOES have a Myrt. Dear Meier Motors, I think I found your next project!!!

Think of the ride program one could institute with that and an FM-2 or F4U. :)

That's incredible. It's not listed over on the preserved axis aircraft site, which was pretty thorough (although I note it hasn't been updated in some time). The only one listed there is at Garber.

I wonder where it came from?

Wow! What I wouldn't give to see this go to somebody for restoration to airworthy! This one and the Planes of Fame Judy together would be a magnificent sight.

Fantastic.
Another of those planes that trashes the claims that the Japanese were just imitators.
A uniquely Japanese concept and execution, a beautifully designed specialised three seat carrier based reconnaisance plane that was as fast as the Hellcat.

Interesting!!!!

Anyone noticed this is not a crash landing recovery!!!!!

Look at how intact the parts are overall.....

Tks for sharing

Is that a Jug undergoing restoration in the background of the second photo?

FINALLY this quite unique wreck re-surface.

This Myrt was abandoned by the Japanese at Moen airfield (truk - Micronesia) and was left almost undisturbed in a swamp until the early 2000's when it was recovered and exported to an unknown destination. You can find some photos of it here : http://www.j-aircraft.com/relics/richar ... k_myrt.htm

Good to see some rare Japanese planes coming back from almost total extinction (kate with Pearl Harbor museum, Betty now with Paul Allen, ...)

Yep, the photos, although not all that recent, were clearly taken at Mike Breshears' shop (Vintage Airframes), where Allied Fighters' P-47 "Dottie Mae" and Hellcat are under restoration. Of course "Dottie Mae" is now largely complete/just about fully assembled, based on latest updates from late June.

Not as bad as the CAF claiming they didn't know about That's All brother until just last year and if they didn't raise all that money it was going to get converted...
