Need Inspiration for T-33 scheme

Wed May 04, 2016 12:06 pm

I need some inspiration. Im looking for a T-33 Shooting Star in a unique USAF scheme. Here is the qualifications I am looking for:

-Be in USAF markings with US AIR FORCE on nose.
-Be 1950's time period prefered
-Be in NMF
-No Day Glo( )
-Been looking for a scheme that has green (green tanks, bands, etc)

If anyone has some photos to share I'd be grateful. Or any links to something UNIQUE! I've searched google a dozen times and haven't saw anything real WOW yet.

Thanks,
Nate

There are hundreds of schemes to choose from. The iconic scheme for the USAF might be polished aluminum to a mirror finish. The Smithsonian has a nice example. I would like to see a T-33 done up properly as a warbird . I mean, gun nose, gunsight, bombs on the bombracks, other original items. It's never been done.

Well, if you decided to go with a non-USAF scheme (yeah, right) this would be a good one:

Fuerza Aerea Guatemalteca (Guatemalan Air Force), Escuadrilla Quetzales Aerobatic Team, 1970

Have you gone through the hundreds of schemes on the Forgotten Jets T-33 page?
This may be a toughie; seems like there weren't too many flashy T-33s until they were transferred to ANG units (losing the "U.S. AIR FORCE") and even then many of those were painted overall gray instead of NMF.
How about this?

Like 53-4892 above, it was lost in a fatal accident - this one on the day JFK was shot.

Thanks all!

Now that is a pretty neat scheme. Now out of curiosity. Is that really yellow tip tanks and nose? I know in old photographs sometimes white will turn out yellowish looking. the tail fin tip looks white?
