... you can decide for yourself how far along they (may) be ... photo from the POF facebook page.
Now that I look at it more, I'm thinking this was a photo taken two Airshows ago. The Judy has not been painted yet in this photo and it was painted last year at least.

That picture was taken at the 2012 airshow. I was told by a PoF volunteer over the weekend that the P-59 "should" have been flying already but was pushed down the list by the decision to restore the Zero and then when Hollywood came knocking about getting the Buchon flying for a movie project. The Zero looks awesome by the way as does the Buchon which we were told would be test flown on Tuesday (tomorrow as I type this) and then would be crated and on its way to France. All that would lead one to believe that there is a good chance the Airacomet is once again at the top of the list and could be done and flying prior to next year's airshow. Fingers crossed!

I wonder if the 109 is going to be used in the HBO "Masters of the Sky" series? I like the fact that they've modified and streamlined the cowling setup to make it resemble a BF-109 more, but I hope in the long run they go the Pacific Fighters route and install an Allison and new cowlings so it's identical to a wartime Messerschmitt from the outside.

She was tucked quietly in a corner of one of the hangers for the airshow, barely even noticed her when we walked in. I did get a couple of photos:
