B-26 Marauder RADIO CALL PLATES

Mon Nov 30, 2015 12:42 pm

Hi, Has anyone else got a collection of radio call plates , I have 13 which seem to have come from a Vet of the 344th BG .
They are mainly Marauder but there is one from a RAF B-17G KJ125 { 44-8628} , and one from a B-24H {42-50444} and also an A-26B{43-22599}. I think the other odd one out is from a C-45.
The one that's the most interesting to me is one from 42-95864 VALKYRIE of the 497th BS probably one of the most photographed Marauders of the 344th.
The others are - 41-131619 SHOT DOWN 25/4/44. YA-J /U MAN - O - WAR ?.
42-95911 MARY MAE Y5-K
42-95923
42-95971 MARY MAE II Y5-O K9-D
42-107677
43-15060
43-335860
43-34131 Y5-N
44-14971
To think that these are probably the only part of these aircraft left makes them even more interesting, I have tried to post photo's of the plates without success
Cheers

HI Marauderman26,
I had these off e-bay , I was looking for a blank plate for my P-47 panel and spotted these .
A very lucky find. I'll keep trying with the pics , or if someone would like to have a go at posting them I could e-mail them !
Thanks for the interest , out of all WW2 bombers the B-26 Marauder is my favourite .
