Veterans Day to remember all the flight deck crews ...

Tue Nov 10, 2015 9:28 am

Amazing people who did amazing things way back then. Just another group of veterans that deserve recognition and should never be forgotten. All the men who served on the flattops no matter what the role.

Spend a few minutes watching this interesting film. You'll enjoy it.

Enjoy V-Day tomorrow and take a minute to think about the vets.

All the photos below are from various times aboard the USS Hornet. Mainly late 1944.

An old coworker of mine was an old deck crew on USS Independence. He said there was more then a few times that a deck crew got cut in half from a prop.

Thanks for the photos, Mark. Great stuff as usual.

Does anybody know the dimensions of WWII flight deck lumber?

Two by fours or ???

Thanks,

Mac
