When the pilot said he "lost number one and four", he wasn't kidding.

Looking good! Is she going to be displayed indoors or outdoors? I prefer the "three tone" camo, but I wonder if overall gloss dark blue might hold up better in the desert sun. I have to say hate the painted canopies, which make an airplane look "toy like" to me..although I fully understand the necessity, especially in a desert environment.

Looking good, but I hope that they addressed any coorosion problems in the less-than-a-month time frame between these images. In the restoration world, that's pretty quick for a big blue bird like that! I had always hoped to see this one on the circuit, but it's a good home.

It will be going into our new hangar. The plane has some surface corrosion that we have taken care of. The other issues were with systems being dunked in water that render the plane unwervicable but aren't significant for our purposes. We've also found some issues that predate the hurricane that have caused people that know far more about these things than I do to question if the plane ever could have been safe to fly even without the salt bath.

Keep up the good work there James. What else is taking place in Pima's restoration shop these days? I know you updated us not too long ago but I thought I would ask.

Obviously the Privateer is our main priority at the moment. We should be putting paint on the PB4Y wing tomorrow. We are also starting work on the pieces of the PBY that have arrived from Lone Star. We have finished the T-6, Yale, Valiant, B-25, Bollingbroke, and the Lodestar fuselage for the new hangar. Work is continuing on the B-52G. We've repainted the nose and tail of the plane while we finish stripping the old paint off the wings. We have a well known aircraft nose artist coming in this weekend to recreate the BUFF's original nose art. The rest of the Privateer fuselage and major parts of the PBY will be arriving tomorrow.
