For your information, the late Morris Avery, of Avery Aviation, will be inducted into the Wyoming Aviation Hall of Fame in a ceremony at the Greybull airport this coming Saturday. His former partner, the late Mel Christler, was inducted back in 1998 or 1999.
Both those guys, along with the late Dan Hawkins and Gene Powers, were true aviation pioneers in every sense of the word. I tip my hat to all four of them.
Christler & Avery Aviation; Avery Aviation; and finally, Hawkins & Powers Aviation, all originated at the Greybull airport. I find it fascinating that such a tiny airport has such a HUGE history. There will never again be another era like it.
Long live the Privateer...
