L-5 Sentinal Saved

Fri Jul 31, 2015 9:43 am

Hi All
Great news!
L-5 Sentinal USAAF# 42-98157 (N50244) has been saved and acquired for restoration and resale,... unless we fall in love with it!
Recovery of aircraft from storage is planned for tomorrow August 1st, and restoration will begin soon as our UC-61K moves out of the restoration shop into the hangar.
The aircraft was well taken care of by the owner, He flew the fabric off it for the last 20 years! (so to speak) Not flown for at least 2 years. It's was time for the plane to go through a recover and restoration.
So, if anyone out there has L-5 advice, or parts please PM me.

You should talk to Sam Taber of Tab Air in East Troy, WI. He flies an L-5 regularly and has several gold wrench awards from OSH under his belt.

Good luck with the process!

We know Sam very well. Our team was up at his shop last month getting a little schooling on L-5 prior to us accepting the plane.
He will be a wealth of knowledge for us.
thanks
