I'm going to about 8 or 10 other countries also, but I just can't remember where at the moment!

In Sri Lanka, if you can manage, there are Argentinean-built Pucara attack aircraft in service with the AF.

Trincomalee used to be a British Navy base.

Myanmar should have interesting stuff, French and Russian, but since it is a military dictatorship, you should be very careful there.

Egypt? Cairo West, I would imagine, but again, be careful there.

Remember that in Egypt you have to pay to get off the camel, not to get on, so if someone offers a photo op atop a camel, you will have to pay!

Tulio

Cool, I didn't know the Pucara was serving outside Argentina. Got to find pictures of the Sri Lankan ones.

Scott.

No sweat Check your PM

I have seen the aircraft - they have a great collection of aircraft there, though the WW2 stuff is limited to a Tigermoth and couple of Dakotas. People however have been interested in the Balliols.

Brad,

If you are going to Sri Lanka, you will need to call in advance and take permission with the CO of the Aircraft Preservation Unit. It would help if its a 'group visit' rather than an individual visit from what i have been told.

Brad

Myanmar has an interesting museum 'Defense Services Museum' at Schwedagan Pagoda Street , Yangon. Northern suburbs of the city.
Opening hours Sat-Thurs 1000-1600
Spits , Seafires , Sea Fury , several D.H. types . Info from Bob Ogdens' Museums of the World series.
I have been to both Marrakesh and Cairo and don't think there is anything aviation related there [ 10 years ago anyway ! ]
