US Army Transportation Museum Gallery

Hello,

We’ve posted a gallery of photos from the US Army Transportation Museum at Fort Eustis, VA. The exhibits inside the museum are presented terrifically - lots of informative facts and info and cool dioramas. The collection displays outside are chock full of super cool stuff that runs the gamut - aircraft, boats, trains, experimental prototypes, trucks, etc.
It was a blast to see an/the actual Piasecki Flying Jeep, Aircar, Cybernetic Walking Machine, De Lackner DH-5 Flying Platform as well as the traditional modes of transport. The museum is a real treat!

It is indeed a great place. Thanks for posting.

Love the early VTOL displays like the gyrocopter- standing above the blades :shock:

Surprised they wrapped the Chinook, believe she was one of the armed versions for Vietnam trials.

The Hiller H-23 (next to last photo) needs some Plexiglas work.
Parts aren't that hard to come by...but they are a bit expensive.
