Had the opportunity to be out at this one today, and I know how ya'll like pictures

If you are any where near us on May 24, 2015, this, and almost all of our other planes will be open. You can come and take as many of your own pictures as you like.

The door.
Looking forward. Lots of room, lots of padding. More so than one usually sees. Perhaps because it is a rescue plane? "That, or it belonged to some General" as my partner said.
Looking back. Storage and APU.

My pleasure.
So, finding out a tad more about this plane: It is technically an HU-16B. It is one of a few that were fitted with skis. Don't know much more about it yet.

Are the "skis" you're referring to the "triphibiam" modification. It featured small runners that extended from the wing floats and hull to enable ice/snow operations.
I don't see them on the wing floats.
If it's a USAF machine passed to the USCG (as many were), they may have been removed.
One of my favorite aircraft...if I had the money, Id love to have one in USAF ARS colors as a tribute to those airmen.

I don't think this one had any CG service.
Side note.....I seem to recall Gary Larkin told me his dad did a rescue in Greenland in one of these on skis. Pretty sure I seen a pic of it. I might even have it somewhere.
