Construction Begun at the Museum of Flight

The long awaited cover of the Airpark is no longer just a dream. The aircraft formerly displayed there were moved to new locations last month and Stage One, the roof is now being built. Stage Two, enclosing the sides will be done when funding is available. See link below.

Excellent news indeed!! It sure would be fun if an interior balcony/catwalk would be installed as well, allowing viewers to see the aircraft from a different perspective for photos.

Glad to see the big machines getting cover (hopefully the Constellation too!)

The Connie will be one of the planes going under cover. I wonder if the museum has plans to acquire any additional planes to put under the new roof. Perhaps a DC 8 or DC 10??

I was just up there two weekends ago on my way back from a long trip near the Canadian border. The connie sure looks nice out front but I'm really looking forward to all these birds being under cover like they needed to be.
