This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Spent some of the morning at Paul Allen's collection...what a fabulous job. The aircraft are flawless and are much like looking at a good painting...the more you look the more you see. The Mustang is by far the best I have ever seen..bar none...as is the Spit and Jenny. Parts of the -17 were on display and are gorgeous. The vertical, outer wing panel and nacelle were on show in "new" mint condition, can't wait to see her all assembled. The picture taking policy requires someone to pose in the shot, and photos cannot be used commercially. After viewing the collection and working with the volunteers I can see the reasoning behind cloak and dagger security...bottom line is they are his planes, he is spending his money very well, and he wants to promote his collection in his own way. My hats off to the staff and tour guides...thanks a million to those that lurk here.

Did you get any pictures of the B-17 parts? I know a guy that crewed that B-17 doing aerial surveys in Canada.
