May Aviation History has my latest story

Thu Feb 26, 2015 5:23 pm

The May issue of Aviation History contains my telling of a 1954 incident in which a Navy pilot ejected from his F9F-6 fighter and the pilotless airplane droned on - directly toward San Diego. Not to give too much away but, his brave wingman deftly shepherded the pilotless jet out to sea while equally brave helicopter crewmen pulled its wet but, otherwise unhurt pilot to safety. One of those brave crewmen was Norm Brunn, father of WIX member Bob Brunn. My thanks to Bob and his dad for introducing me to this most fascinating true story.

Enjoy!

Sounds very interesting, Craig. I'll be watching my mailbox for the May issue.
