Wed Jan 28, 2015 6:07 pm

The B-17 City of Savannah was dedicated today at the Might 8th Air Force Museum. Did anyone go? Any recent pictures?

I installed the new nose glass that I made for them on the bird last Wednesday. Sadly ,I couldn't make it down there for the dedication. The bird really looks great and all hands really worked hard over the years to make her nice.

Great to hear about the newly made nose Plexiglas! I bet it's beautiful to see it first installed. I sure hope a certain B-17 with an ex-IGN nose would take the hint *cough*.

In all fairness I understand there are higher priorities when keeping these machines around, but if you can give it a beautiful, detailed restoration - be sure to have to appropriate fitting/looking nose! (It's one of the parts most people focus on when taking photo's of a B-17.)

Thunderbird really needs the correct plexi on her and fill in that IGN lower side windows.I just don't get why they have not addressed that.

SO proud of the Savannah team. I helped with the tail stinger. As for Thunderbird, I think they left it that as a tip of the hat to it's former life.
