This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Is there a common site or contact that links to any and all Museums that are actively looking to trade duplicate aircraft inventory.

I wish air museums would work together more and network by sharing information, trading planes, parts and expertise. I have visited many air museum that have excess project planes and spare parts. Many Air Force Museums are currently trying to down size and loan out aircraft to others. The main problem is the expense of moving the aircraft.
I guess this Warbird Exchange web site is the closet thing we have for this. Thanks go to everyone who maintain and support this web site.

I agree - a yearor two ago when Hill AFB museum announced that it was downsizing we (Wendover Airfield Museum) got in contat withthem and the USAF Museum program and let them know that sincewe are within a 2 hour drive we were interested in a plane or two that they were giving up. AND? nothing. . . . cost would have been minimal to our museum and we could have actualy put them in a hangar as opposed to outside like they were.
Alas. . . .

We are always willing to work with and if in our power help other museums. I have been a big proponent of that and take ever chance I can to get involved.
