Re: Any news on the MAAM P-61 wing project??

This is the most recent update from the Kickstarter page. Posted 7/28/14.

A backer the other day requested an update on the wing spar remanufacture, so I thought I'd share an update with all of you lovely backers on the status of the project.

With the funds raised with the Kickstarter campaign, the Museum was able to purchase the raw materials for the Wing Spar. The first wing is now completely disassembled (see the picture on our Kickstarter homepage? That's us taking wing no. 1 apart.) The next step is to arrange machining for both wings at once to put her all together. We're in it for the long haul: approximate time for completion: 2+ years.

We'll keep you posted along the way! Any one who attends World War II weekend (July 5-7, 2015) can see first hand the progress we've made on the wings by then, as the P-61 will be out of the hangar for display.

Thanks, all. You're still the best!

-Elyse

Note, the WWII Weekend Date should be June not July.

I don't understand. Why do you say their website will be no help? It seems to be incredibly comprehensive. (I wouldn't touch Facebook with your d**k, so I don't know anything about that...)
