One of the absolute best paint scheme recreations to be done in recent memory, too... that's a fantastic interpretation of Priller's "black 13" from Stab/JG 26. He only got to fly it a few times before the incident if I recall correctly- here's looking forward to it being completed and many years of safe operation!

The standard engine for most of these Flug Werk New-Build Reproduction 190's is the Shvetsov ASh-82.

Tri-State near Cincinnati is putting a R-2800 in their 190 and Frasca's has one in it too.

Considering the number of problems reported with these FW190, I wonder how many of them are operated and fly on a regular basis ?

The wreck of the french one is reported to be at Meier Motor in Germany, but not recent news.

I heard supplementing the Ash for a R-2800 fixes alot of the problems they were having. Any truth to that? Comments? Thoughts?

It is at MeierMotors, though it seems to be on the backburner. The owner has 2 Bf 109 projects to be finished first (1 G-12 and 1 G-6), so I doubt the 190 will be started soon. The pics were taken by me during open hangar day on July 20.

Reports are that 20 kits were built.

The only well documented problem has not been identified in any of the accidents.

Dear owner of a FW 190 A8/N Experimental,
After a few flights being flown within prescribed limits (max. 450km/h, 3g), structural
damages have been found on an FW 190 FW 190 A8/N being flown in Germany, built from
an airframe kit made by Flugwerk GmbH or Aerostar respectively. On closer examination
either side of the wing showed significant deformations of the flush rivets in the root section
of the wing upper cover in the region of the main spar and a significant gap between the spar
cap and the bracket assembly at the shear web.

How many of these can be confirmed as Flugwerk airframes? Some may be Jurca or other replicas.

I heard installing a R-2800 on one of the see 190s fixes alot of the problems. Any comments?

And may create others like physically fitting inside the cowling and cooling problems, although they all may have that.

Presently I think only four are 'regular' flyers. Erickson, Hansen, Frasca and ours at Omaka, which has been going well for a good year or so. Only limitations for our example is pilot availability, as only one is certified currently. However another pilot is in line to be instructed on the beast shortly.

This one recently had a bellylanding at Braunschweig airport due to electrical problems.
