Reading WWII weekend 2014

Sun Jun 08, 2014 6:08 pm

Could only stay a short while today, so not too many photos.
Here are a few.

MAAM's P-61 was outside and uncovered this year.

Wonderful photos Bill.

The Widow is really coming together. The new paint job on the BAHF C-54 looks great. I was there on Friday, hope you don't mind if I add a few of my pictures. I thoroughly enjoyed Greg Sheltons Wildcat aerobatic routine. First time I've ever seen a Wildcat put through it's paces like that. It was alot of fun to watch, and it just sounded heavenly.

TAdan, no problem, nice to see your photos from the show too.

Here are a couple more "old style" photos of some re-enactors taken today.

Great shots folks! Thanks for posting.
Looks like MAAM got lucky with the weather for once. They were certainly due.

I can hardly wait until that widow is black!
Looks amazing! I recently got my T-shirt from their kickstarter campaign. :D

Great shots guys!! I will get a few of mine up when I get them processed.

I was blown away by both the Wildcat demo and the high speed passes of the Spit. I have seen MANY spit demos but that is by far, the best I have ever seen!!!

Seeing the C-46 photo reminded me, What happened to the mechanic that the FAA charged with no license, I.A. , pilot etc.?

Greetings TAdan, thx for posting the photos. I wonder if you would know the owner of the US Navy Jeep with VF-11 Sundowners on the windscreen. I'd like to contact the owner if possible.

Thx Mark

The VF-11 Jeep belongs to Jim Krombach. He's one of the coordinators for WWII Weekend.

Good morning Tom, thanks kindly, would you happen to have contact information for Jim? PM would be helpful if possible. I'm interested in Jim's connection to the VF-11 Sundowners. Beautiful Jeep as well of course.

Thx Mark

Here are a few of my shots. I was camped out on the far left side by the Pacific re-enactors area.
