Spitfire Mk24 N7929A

Mon May 26, 2014 2:05 pm

On the Flypast forum there is a discussion about the above spitfire which was owned by Peter Freytag and crashed 17th April 1953 at Suffern, New York. Does anyone here know what the cause of the crash was officially attributed to ? Many thanks in anticipation.

If it is the one I'm thinking of it dove in from high altitude and was utterly destroyed with cause being attributed to pilot incapacitation/hypoxia.
