Looks like someone might be building a P-47 in the future.

Yeah, that ones going to be fun. There is not much left to her. She's an ex-5th Air Force one that someone found down in Papua New Guinea sitting behind someones house. It's been there since the 1960's.

Howdy all

This is the history of the P-47D now at Aircorp Aviation

All the skins were removed by 'Jungle Bob' to access parts for his other Thunderbolts

Look forward to seeing Aircorps Aviation and the Texas Flying Legend Museum bring her back to all her original glory

Actually, this is the history of the one at Aircorps. You're off by one digit, Lightning.

Howdy Rob

It is actually the same P-47 Thunderbolt. After sitting behind the house it was mounted in an open field as a monument. For years it had two different identies.

Who is "Jungle Bob"?, I did a WIX search and came up with Rob Greinert, or not? What's this fella's story? I've heard the name mentioned here a few times but I'm not in the warbird recovery loop so unless it's supposed to be none of my business, anyone care to explain a bit about him? No agenda, just curious

They are really pushing for it to be done before Oshkosk. Before then, I'm not sure.
