The Aviodrome in Holland is getting ready to unveil a new exhibit dedicated to World War One. The museum is creating a diorama which will include a replica Spijker V.II 2-seat biplane and a Nieuport 11.

The Connie is not airworthy, and hasn't been for several years. They used to run it up occasionally in the hopes of one day flying it again, but then the museum went bust and was taken over.

I red the official story that before the museum has financial trouble, the plane was basically ready to fly but a new management decide to increase rules/required training for flight crew, what grounded the plane. Probably the new costs of operation were not affordable in the difficult context.

Not easy to keep this kind of bird flying without having a major corporate sponsor helping paying the bilds.

Doing a Viking River Cruise this summer with another couple. Planning to visit the Aviodrome Museum along with the Redbull Hangers in Salzburg and a air museum in Prague. Hoping the Prague visit coincides with an airshow, it might. Still using the internet to get all the particulars. First trip to Europe, can't wait. Gotta talk the better half into England, Duxford for sure, in a couple years.
