We have some news from the B-24 Liberator hangar project this week with following -

News updates-

* Since launching the facebook page 6 days ago,we have had over 394 people like or follow the project...

* Our main webpage is hoping to be updated in next few weeks all going well.

* Have you considered donating money to our project yet?....if not we would welcome such support....one step closer to making the B24 complete.

Photos from this week - Roger with the saddle that joins up the top of the fuselage over the wing.
This has been rebuilt & alignment checks are being carried out before final fitment. The life rafts were stowed in the area above the wing in line with the hatches. (Photo Ron Taaffe)

Photos from this week - one of our younger volunteers, Chris, using our home made, portable, bead blasting booth to clean up the rear spar of the ctr section of the wing.

If they are, then they'd have to make her look like a D model like the Green Hornet.




Here's to hoping they at least built up a full size mockup B-24D (similar to how Peter Jackson had those full size Lancasters built in China.

1.The wreck is what is left of the centre wing section after we have stripped out most of the metal bits for refurbishment.

Ages ago, I found this group their first Emerson turret remains out in Oregon. I wonder if this is the result, or if they located another. Looks good!

B-24 project update - This week not too much happened at the hangar this week, as many volunteers are away on a break.

Some work tho was undertaken on following -

* Volunteers are still working on the saddle.

* Charles is refining the Norden Bombsight display. He has a Norden rigged up so that visitors can see the tracking mechanism working.

The 4 men in the photo ( Lto R) are Ed, John, Nat, Vern.
All men served in Liberators during WW2 and appear for work at the hangar at least once a week, generally more often. They are very young, active "oldies". (Photo Judy Gilbert)
