As someone who will probably never get to the States the first few years (I'm in Europe),.. Anyone know how I could get Bob Hoovers autograph? Always admired the man

Thanks, but I'd like to get his autograph personally.

You shouldn't bother him at home. These guys are elderly and deserve their peace. Bob Hoover has a book signing booth at Oshkosh Airventure and he signs books for a couple hours a day.
IT's an opportunity to chat with him, have the book signed as you want, and get your photo taken with him. All for the price of the book. While at the convention you can see many of the iconic types he flew like the P-51, F-86, T-28, Aero Commander, etc. . YOU can also take time to see many types of airworthy aircraft types not seen in Europe, some "last surviving types" . and some surviving aces of WW II like Bud Anderson.
THere's no excuse for not going.

Well to be fair Fouga23 is a long distance away (Europe) so I can think of many excuses for her not going to Oshkosh, like in a few thousand$$$ excuses. And as for not bothering Hoover at home? Sure but if Hoover has a dedicated mailing address for autograph requests there's nothing wrong with requesting one, this is what I believe Fouga23 is looking for.
Fouga23, if I recall, Hoover was signing books at The POF Chino airshow last year. If he's there again signing books this year I'll be happy to get you a signed book if that would work for you. PM me anytime if interested. Takes very little time and effort on my part so not to worry there. If it's something you really want it can be done ...
Me on the other hand? The only autographs I covet are the one's on accounts receivable checks

Mark, that is very generous of you to make that offer.
As far as Fouga23 coming to the U.S., I know that he will not come. She, however, might one day
You are a high class guy Mark. I just wanted to point out that one little correction.

Bob shows up pretty much every year for the Reno Air Races. He has a booth there for autographs/ book sales also. This past year he and some friends showed up for dinner and sat next to some Team Mates of mine who noticed him and paid for his dinner. He was a bit shy over it, but happily said howdy to each of them the rest of the time he saw them at the Races. Plus, you would get to see the Races themselves if you attend....

He was signing them at Reno last year as well. If you can, do it in person, I have run into him many times over the years and its always have been a treat.
Just ask Chuck Gardner

I would buy his book and then send the book along with a personal letter and some pictures of your activities with the fougas, 104, etc and in the letter ask him to sign and return the book. Believe it or not these old guys do get a kick out of seeing what others are up to, they are airplane people and interested in what we do. Be sure to include prepaid shipping back to you.
You will not only get your signed book but, if I know Mr. Hoover at all, you will have a new friend and pen pal!!
I first met Mr. Bob when I was 8 years old, and darned if he doesn't still remember me today. He was at PDK airport in Atlanta in the late 70's (my memory on when exactly is getting dim) giving sales demonstration rides rides in the twin commanders. He even let me fly the plane for a few minutes!!
Of course, at the time I really had no idea who he was, just thought he was a pretty cool dude. I did feel bad when the company my Dad was flying for purchased a new MU-2 instead of one of "Mr. Bob's" planes.
