This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Looks like the Mid Atlantic Air Museum has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $35,000 to cover the cost of new wing spars.

Bump, looks like they are going to need a serious boost if they are going to make their deadline. I've got my fingers crossed.

Bump. Me too. This just landed in my mail.
"Pardon the "News" pun, but for all of our supporters outside of Central Pennsylvania, we got a bit of surprise yesterday.
Our friends at York Daily Record really helped us out again--> in a big way. Yesterday, Center of Front page (above the fold!), was the story of Mid-Atlantic Air Museum's incredible journey recovering the P-61. The Kickstarter even got a shout out! Full the full article, you can read here:

Keep going guys! We're over halfway there

Kim and I donated yesterday.
-- at 72, I selfishly hope I live long enough to see the P-61 fly.

A couple of years ago I was given an old FlyPast magazine from May, 1985. It shows how far the magazine has come since then, there are only 4 pages in color.
In it, there is a small article with news of the P-61s discovery and the MAAM's plan to restore it. It's probably the first mention of the find/project in an international publication.
Here's the deal, I'll donate it to the museum for their library (if they need/want it) or to anyone else in return for a donation to the project (to be made directly to them).
I'll pay the postage to you...

Very generous of you John. I bet the museum would love to have it.
I just increased my pledge a bit, but I'll let another/new donor make the call.
