While we're speaking of rare NA- variants, does anyone know the final fate of the last known BC-1A N58478? It was last seen derelict in Minden, NV in 1973. There was a picture in Air Classics back then that showed a rather battered fuselage with the registration number peeling off. Depending on the source, the serial is either 39-855 (Baugher) or 40-708 (Goodall).
(The latter also lists BC-1 37-448/N1071G as a registration candidate in 1996; is this a real airframe or paperwork and/or a data plate?)

Leonard P. over in Bend has Alex Koleda's old AT-6 N56737 a true AT-6 ie BC-1A.
I don't think it's flown in quite a while though.

I seem to remember a BC-1 in Honduras when Hollywood Wings recovered the Corsairs back in the late 1970's.

Jack
I climbed all over that one when Alex owned it at Prineville. He hadn't flown it it for many years, but annualed it every year.
