During that time, AvSpecs had been restoring hydraulic and electrical systems, making pipes, and constructing new cowlings and other parts. Two former Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) Merlin 25s were located in Australia complete with genuine engine mounts. These were sent to California to be restored by Vintage V-12s.
