Did a search in WIX and didn't find any previous mention of this video, but it's fascinating! Seaplane guru David Quam posted it on YouTube back in Feb. 2012. I haven't even gotten all the way through Part 1 yet, which seems to be over an hour long, and there is apparently a Part 2 as well!

I'll finish watching tomorrow. In the first 3 minutes I see two really scary things and one bad if common practice in use The guy free drilling on his lap is dancing with a very painful trip to the Emergency Room, I've seen several folks drill into REALLY sensitive places doing that exact thing. Secondly, where are his safety glasses? It'll take him the rest of his life to grow a new eyeball. I also see him using a drill bit to deburr holes which gives a ragged edge that could start a crack, better to buy and use a real deburring bit, they're pretty cheap and unless you're doing CRES or hardened Steel, they'll last for a very long time.
Sorry but years of teaching the correct (and safest) methods of doing things keeps popping to the surface, and don't get me started on proper use of a torque wrench
