Ah yes, the Tompest. The perfect companion to the Pittsfire.

I thought he already had a Tempest in his life, what's her name again...?

How experienced a pilot is Mr. Pitt? Surely, no insurance company would "allow" him to risk either his own neck or the aircraft itself by flying it imself.
I heard many years ago that his aviation insurance company stopped John Travolta from travelling around to movie projects in his own DC-3. They "made" him get something newer like a Lear or later his G-IV (is that the correct model for the one he has?) and of course his Boeing 707-138B.

After the last aircraft they bought, he probably wants something cheap like a Spitfire to be able to just go fly and not worry about the expense of while doing so.....

And the fact the Tempest is a single-seater might be attractive ( also can be said of (most) Spitfires
