4th Fighter Group Pilot Leon M. "Lum" Blanding

Sun Oct 20, 2013 3:22 pm

Blanding, from Sumter, South Carolina, flew with the 4th FG from October, 1942 until September, 1944. I would like to include his story in a future Volume of "Remembering The Canadian Yanks". He died in Sumter on April 15, 1988. Would anyone have access to a death certificate or, the name of the funeral home that conducted the service. The name of the cemetery where he was buried would also help. Proof of his death is needed to search his RCAF records in Ottawa, Ontario. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Tom Walsh.

If you go to http://www.whitepages.com/ and look for Patricia A. Blanding, Sumter, SC (his daughter?), you'll get a phone number for her. It also shows a Patricia W. Blanding (89) which may be his wife.
