I was cruising around the country with Google Earth, spotted two D21 drones at AMARG.
Thought it was interesting that they were just sitting out in the open.
coordinates 32.169380, -110.866627
Also, some short wing B-57's at 32.161250, -110.837757

Those may or may not be the d21s that NASA had up till sometime last year. I don't remember why NASA had D21s this recently, but I remember reading something not too long ago that they were giving them back to the AF. I think there were at Edwards but I can't remember.
There used to be quite a few D21s and David Monthan.

I hated those *&^%$#@ drones at MASDC (later AMARC, and even later AMARG). They showed up late 70's, early 80's back when there were still photo tours. On every visit people were told to stay out of the area they were in and "NO PICTURES!". Well, to some that is an invitation to do just that. Photos were taken and published and after that entire sections of the boneyeard were off limits. Unfortunately those sections contained 101s, Huns and new arrival A-7s. Stunk from the view of those of us who followed the rules. Of course there are no longer photo tours and the D-21s are now celebrities.

So,
That's what happened! About 1990 or so , I inquired about the walking photo tours.
They said it had been discontinued because some folks couldn't behave properly.
I had to settle for a bus ride through part of the AMARC complex.

Is that another D-21 at the corner of Wilmont and Coolidge? Maybe 3,000 feet to the East.
